My in-house lessons take place in a dedicated area in my own house. The studio is located in the basement and has a separate entrance/fire exit, a waiting area for parents and kids (in case if siblings take classes one after another), a library and a washroom. You can help yourself with coffee, tea, and candies.
If the studio is available when I am teaching at my student’s homes or just having a spare time, I can share it with other musicians for their private lessons or rehearsals.
The latest recent additions to my studio equipment are three web cameras and a dedicated laptop computer for the online courses.
During my 35+ years in the profession, I’ve gathered a large collection of music books. The library is located in the waiting area. The computer is used, when I show performances of great masters to my students to demonstrate them the level, which they can probably achieve… if they aspire hard enough. Each great musician was a student. This is always good to remember.
Besides a studio with the Yamaha upright piano, I provide an opportunity to practice at a Yamaha grand piano – an excellent instrument with bright brilliant sound. This is an essential part of the preparation for the RCM exams and recitals.
I can make a recording of my student’s performance. Such recording can serve as a good memory of the best years in one’s life. Here is one of the examples of recordings made in my home.
